Community Service: First Friday Collections

Each month, the Angels hold a collection to benefit those in need of resources. Traditionally, each monthly collection has been for canned food. St. Joseph’s Academy works with several food pantries in the St. Louis area that are in need of food for the people they serve. In addition, the Angels often hear about agencies in need of other supplies. St. Martha’s Hall is an agency that the Academy recently helped with a donation of over 3,000 rolls of toilet paper. The monthly collections are held in homerooms, and each homeroom’s campus ministry representative helps to facilitate the collection. Homeroom contributions are totaled and a quarterly prize is given to the homeroom with the most donations. The monthly collections are a great way to see Angels in action as they reach out to the dear neighbor.
