Greetings to all St. Joe Moms!

I am Gina Hayes, and I am pleased to be serving as your Mothers’ Club President for 2013-2014. I am looking forward to meeting and working with all of you in the upcoming school year.

My tag line for my presidency sums up all the wonderful things I love about St. Joe and the Mothers’ Club community - Tradition, Society and Service. Our school community is so deeply rooted in wonderful traditions, and I am so honored to be carrying on Mothers’ Club traditions this year, such as honoring the Past-Presidents at our December meeting.  I think that Society is so important to the Mothers’ Club, because it is through volunteering for committees, working in the pro shop and attending events that we develop those relationships with other mothers in our school.  Gone are the days of meeting moms for playdates, and as many of you know high school can pass by very quickly.   In order to provide a caring and nurturing environment for our girls, I think it is imperative to know the parents of our daughter’s friends and the Mothers’ Club is just one more avenue for developing those relationships.  I have found that not only has this been the case, but I have developed friendships with women that do not have girls in my daughter’s classes that I may otherwise not have met.  And most importantly, I love the St. Joe motto and the mission of the sisters of St. Joseph, “Not I but We”, and  “to serve the dear neighbor without distinction.”  Service has been a big part of my life, and the Mothers’ Club does an excellent job of serving our school community through committees such as Angels in the Wings, Book Return Day and Guardian Angels.  We also serve the dear neighbor through committees like Angel Outreach and Meal Moms.

Please download our volunteer brochure (pdf, 326.22KB) for Mothers’ Club events and committees, and if you have questions or ideas please free to contact me!  I love to hear from our mothers.  Make sure to mark your calendar for our first Mothers’ Club social on Thursday, September 19.  You won’t want to miss this great opportunity to visit with other mothers.

St. Joe Mothers’ Club…Tradition, Society and Service.

Sincerely,

Gina Hayes

Mothers’ Club President
