Dear St. Joe Mothers,
My name is Maureen Scheidt and I am very excited and honored to be your Mother’s Club President for this coming year! I would like to extend my warmest welcome to all of you, both veteran and new SJA moms. I welcome you to St. Joe and I welcome you to a brand new school year filled with the promise of new friendships, new opportunities, challenges, growth, and fun for both you and your daughters.
I have had two daughters attend St. Joe, and since my youngest is a senior, this is my seventh and final year as a member of the St. Joe community. Our girls are only in high school for four short years and this time passes so quickly. I urge you to get involved! If your daughter is a senior this year, there are still many opportunities for you to be a part of her St. Joe years, and if your daughter still has a few years before graduation, then I hope you get involved soon if you’re not already. I have thoroughly enjoyed my years at St Joe, from stuffing envelopes for mailings, to sending in money for Angel cookies at Open House, to managing the Pro Shop. I would not trade a single memory!
The Mother’s Club is a vital support to the administration, faculty, staff, and students at St. Joe. Our goal is quite simple; in partnering with our school and providing the help and support they need, we become living examples to out daughters. The added benefit is the rewarding experience of meeting remarkable people in the process. We have many events throughout the year that are all organized by moms who generously give their time to make each event special. Whether you chair our Auction, bake cookies for an event, or donate money for numerous activities, any and all help is greatly appreciated and recognized. As you can see, there is always a way to get involved. For those of you who have volunteered in the past, I want to personally thank you for the time you have dedicated to making our Mother’s Club a success. If you haven’t volunteered before, I’d like to invite you to consider it. I can promise you that what you will take away will be far greater than what you will put in.
If you have not filled out and returned a Mother’s Club volunteer form yet, please take the time to look it over and find some event or events you might be interested in helping with. We need all the help we can get, no matter how little of a role you think you play; I promise you it makes a difference. No matter how much time you can give, it is always appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.
I want you to know that I will try my very best and work very hard this coming year as your Mother’s Club President. I’m sure I will make mistakes along the way, and I want to urge you not to hesitate in speaking to me about them so that we can resolve the issue together.
