Auction Bartenders
Members of this committee work as bartenders in shifts at the annual SJA Auction run by the Mothers’ Club.
Barbeque Committee
This committee gathers at the various events like spirit days and Beer and Brats to share laughs and cook for the attendees of the events. This is a great way to meet other dads in a casual fun setting.
Beer, Brats & Burgers/Past Member BBQ
This is our "Welcome" event for fathers to kick off the beginning of the school year. Beer, Brats & Burgers night has been a fun-filled tradition at SJA for over 24 years. This is a social event for dads to renew friendships and meet new dads. The Club has been in formation since the early 1960's. We honor our past volunteers and invite them back to share the past, present and future of SJA. All the work and preparation for this evening is already performed so simply show up and have fun.
Class Representatives/Communications
This committee serves as the Club’s liaison to each class. The primary responsibility of the class representative is to enlist volunteers for events and assist at these events. There is at least one primary class rep for each class who becomes the point person for that class. The reps are encouraged to attend the Fathers’ Club meetings to keep abreast of all activities and provide input into the meetings. Email communication is another way of keeping members abreast of important information.
Community Service Projects
These events are dedicated to promoting volunteerism working with our daughters in community improvement and service. This group coordinates and plans projects during the school year. Our ongoing service projects include St. Patrick's Center and Sts. Peter and Paul where we feed the homeless. This is a great way for the entire familoy to serve a world in need.
Father/Daughter Mass
This Eucharistic celebration is one of the events for dads and daughters to spend some spiritual time together. It begins with a Mass at 7:30am and is followed by coffee, juice, and doughnuts.
Golf Tournament
This is a great way for the SJA community of current parents, alumnae, past parents and friends to participate in a relaxed event, whether a scratch golfer or a duffer. This committee begins work during the spring and summer. Volunteers will line up golfers, hole sponsorships, auction items, and door prizes.
Spirit Days
Members coordinate spirit days throughout the year at various sporting events; these events promote the spirit of St. Joe with the SJA community and our opponents. Free drinks and food are provided to anyone attending the game. The committee works with the barbeque committee, alumnae office, athletic office and student spirit club to plan the dates and locations of each event. We are in need of fathers of players on the teams to work these events in an effort to help bolster the overall spirit and promote the school slogan of ‘Not I, But We’.
