Archdiocesan Choral Festival 2010
The Frontenac Voices participated in the Archdiocesan Choral Festival at Kennedy High School on Thursday, February 25, 2010. Fifteen Catholic schools participated. Each choir sang 2-3 selections, then had the opportunity to work with one of the clinicians.
This year's clinicians were Amy Kaiser, Director of the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, John Stewart, Director of Choral Activities and Professor of Voice, Washington University, St. Louis.

Director David Kowalczyk rehearses with the choir before the performance.

Mr. Kowalczyk introduces the Frontenac Voices at the performance.

After the performance, the choir had the opportunity to work with clinician John Stewart.

This day proved to be a wonderful opportunity for the choir. Many thanks to Mr. Kowalczyk and accompanist, Gail Hintz.

Frontenac Voices
Open to sophomores, juniors and seniors by audition only. The Frontenac Voices represent the premier, select Choir of St. Joseph’s Academy. This Chamber Chorus is designed to challenge the student who is particularly gifted and interested in singing. The group has the opportunity to perform more challenging repertoire, and represents the school on various occasions both on and off campus. This Chorus rehearses before school four days a week and requires a serious commitment from its members.
Advanced Chorus
Permission of Instructor required. In Advanced Chorus, students learn the proper vocal technique, develop basic music reading and listening skills, and acquire ease in public performance. Individual students and groups can compete at the MSHSAA music festivals and MCDA all-district choir. Juniors and Seniors who meet district requirements are also eligible to audition for MCDA all-state choir.
Freshmen Chorus
Open to all freshmen. Two-thirds of the Class of 2009 participate in chorus, with 115 students registered for the 2005-06 Academic Year. The chorus performs twice annually at the Christmas and Spring concerts. Freshmen who participate in the vocal program are eligible to compete at the MSHSAA music festivals and MCDA all-district choir.
