Study Skills Camp

Members of Freshman Class Jump-Start Academic Careers

Each year the SJA Study Skills Camp provides a great way for members of the incoming freshman class to meet fellow Angels and to jump-start their high school careers. Students choose to attend a three hour session, during either the morning or the afternoon, on each of three days. In 2008, the Camp will be held on August 6th, 7th and 8th. Approximately 85 students register for the course.

The camp is designed and taught by social studies teacher Karen Morgan and mathematics teacher Kathy Siegel. They have been offering the option for the camp for several years now. Students explore strategies for success in these areas: learning styles, note taking, test taking, time management, organizational tactics, and laptop skills.

These students will undoubtedly benefit from the tips and techniques learned during the camp and will hopefully be better able to meet the academic challenges that they will face during the freshman year. Best of luck to you, freshmen!
