1. Where is St. Joseph’s Academy located and how do I get there?
St. Joseph’s Academy is located in Frontenac, Missouri, which is in West St. Louis County. We are near Highway 40 and Lindbergh Blvd.
If you are traveling Lindbergh South, you would turn right on Litzsinger Rd., or you would turn left onto Litzsinger if traveling Lindbergh North.
Once on Litzsinger, you will then make an immediate left into St. Joseph’s Academy.
Once you are on our campus you will stay to the right, because it is one-way traffic.
You will proceed around the whole building- pass the fields, tennis courts, convent- and keep going to the front of our building, which is the main entrance.
When you get to the stop sign, see a circle drive and the statue of St. Joseph, you are there.
Turn left at the stop sign, onto the circle drive, and there is visitor parking available.
Go up the steps, through the front doors, and the office is on the left.
2. How many zip codes and parishes are represented at St. Joe?
Students at St. Joseph’s Academy come from 73 parishes and 50 zip codes.
3. Do students car pool to and from St. Joe?
Yes, parents do form car pools. It is also common that older students drive younger students to and from school.
4. What is the current tuition and fees and St. Joseph’s Academy?

6. Is St. Joe represented at High School Nights?
In the fall of 2008, St. Joseph’s Academy will be represented at 11 High School Nights in the area. Please click on the High School Nights page for exact dates and times.
7. When is St. Joseph’s Academy Open House?
Our Open House is scheduled for Sunday, November 2, 2008,
from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please see the Open House section for more details.
8. Are there openings at each grade level?
Openings are determined from year to year, based on student need. It is not consistent to state that there will openings each year, for each grade level.

9. What is the average class size?
The average class size at St. Joe is 21.
10. What is a typical school day at St. Joe?
- Homeroom period begins at 8:15. The homeroom period gives students a chance to listen to the daily school announcements. Attendance is taken each morning in homeroom. Students are grouped by grade in homeroom.
- There are seven class periods of 45 minutes each and a 25 minute lunch. Dismissal is at 3:05, except on special schedule days.
- SJA has a rotating schedule, thus dropping one subject period per day. Consequently this allows for each subject to fall at a different time each day.
11. Do you have to be Catholic to attend St. Joseph’s Academy?
A student does not have to be Catholic to attend St. Joe. However, we do give preference to students from Catholic grade schools and PSR programs as long as they meet our other admissions criteria.
12. How many students are admitted to the freshmen class each year at St. Joe?
The exact number of students admitted to St. Joseph’s Academy varies from year to year, but we admit approximately 165 eighth graders for our incoming freshmen class.
13. What percentage of applicants does St. Joseph’s Academy accept each year?
The school chooses not to release this information, as it changes each year and is not consistent in nature.
14. How can a student earn college credit or AP credit at St. Joe?
St. Joseph’s Academy is a college preparatory school that equips students for successful college careers. Under the 1-8-1-8 program offered at St. Joe through Saint Louis University and with the eight AP courses St. Joe offers, a SJA student can complete up to one full year of college during her high school years.

15. Does St. Joseph’s Academy require 8th grade students to interview during the admissions process?
St. Joe does not require interviews for prospective students. We base admissions on the application, test scores, and grades from 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.
16. What is St. Joseph’s Academy average ACT score?
Our average ACT is 26.
