Dance to the Music!
SJA students are movin’ and groovin’ to the beat! New dance classes are a popular addition to the PE curriculum and the Fine Arts program.
The Wellington Room received quite a makeover during the 2006 summer break. The construction of the new dance studio required a coordinated effort to lay the new hardwood floors, install wall-length mirrors, paint the remaining walls, lower the ceiling, and install a state-of-the-art sound system.

But the renovation would not have been complete without the addition of new dance instructor Peggy Quinn. Ms. Quinn is an experienced instructor who will be incorporating numerous types of dance into the program – ballet, jazz, swing, hip-hop, ballroom and more. The classes are seen as a way to enhance both the PE and Fine Arts programs at St. Joe.
Students are overwhelmingly enthusiastic about the classes, which are geared to different levels of ability and experience. The classes appear be good not only for physical well-being but mental as well – students feel the classes provide a stimulating break in the day.

The dance classes will no doubt keep our students ‘on their toes’!
