Theology

Statement of Goals and Objectives

The goal of the Theology Department at St. Joseph's Academy is to provide the opportunity and atmosphere for students to learn the teachings and values of the Catholic faith in an effort to integrate them into their total life experience.

Objectives
  1. To deepen the student’s relationship with our Creator through the academic study of scripture, sacraments, prayer, and to build on that foundation a woman who will make a profound impact on our world.
  2. To explore the mission of the Church through the academic study of Church history, dogma, Catholic social teachings, and to awaken a lived response, rooted in faith, to contemporary issues and world needs.
Requirements

Four credits in Theology are required for graduation; two semesters may be electives.
