Mission Statement: St. Joseph's Academy is a college preparatory high school sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Our mission at the Academy is provide quality Catholic education for young women in an environmnet that challenges them to grow in faith, knowledge, and respect for self and others. Our community expects these women to make a profound impact in the world.
School: Suburban, college preparatory, founded in 1840 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet for the education of young women.
Enrollment: 630, Grades 9-12.
Faculty: 58 certified professionals, 39 have master’s degrees and one holds a doctorate. Student-faculty ratio is 11:1
Pattern of School Year: Two semesters
Religious Affiliation: Roman Catholic.
Governing Board: Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and an appointed Board of Directors.
Accreditation: State of Missouri, Advanc-Ed Association, Missouri State High School Activities Association.
Memberships: National Catholic Education Association, National Association of Secondary School Principals, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, National Staff Development Council, International Society for Technology in Education. Each academic department holds membership in State and National Associations.
Minimum Graduation Requirements (27.5 units):
4 units each of English, Mathematics and Theology, respectively
3 units each of Social Studies and Lab Sciences, respectively
2 units of World Language
1 unit each of Fine Arts, Practical Arts and Physical Education
4.5 or more units of electives
