The Board's Purpose is to provide leadership and strategic direction to advance the mission of St. Joseph’s Academy.

St. Joseph’s Academy is a college preparatory high school sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Our mission at the Academy is to provide quality Catholic education for young women in an environment that challenges them to grow in faith, knowledge, and respect for self and others. Our community expects these young women to make a profound impact in the world.

Guiding Values of the Board of Directors include:
  • Integrity and AccountabilityAs members of the Board of Directors we will be accountable to each other to ensure the continual pursuit of our Core Purpose. Integrity will guide us as we act with board and not individual purpose. The actions we take in our roles as board members will support and advance the mission and reputation of SJA in our community.
  • A Spirit of Open MindednessWe will engage in board communication with thoughtful consideration. We will encourage our fellow board members as they bring forth ideas and solutions to our challenges and we will view alternative ideas to our own with an open mind.
  • Commitment – to Catholic beliefs and values; engagement in the work of the Board; to the support of SJA. We will embrace with intensity our responsibilities as board members. We will demonstrate our commitment by attending all meetings and making the necessary time commitment to other board activities, by supporting the school financially, by utilizing external relationships for the benefit of SJA and by seeking committee assignments and leadership roles.
